I wanted to share someone with you who I first started following and who really peaked my interest in designing textiles. Lulu DK, short for Lulu deKwiatkowski, is an amazing designer and artist who has been creating gorgeous products since 1998. Her blog,
Trail of Inspiration, shows what's going on in her life, but she also shows how her artwork goes from a painting and then onto a product...which I love to see! She has a bold, colorful and whimsical style and has created products from dinnerware, bedding, fabrics, towels, even leather couches! She also stays in touch with the artist side and creates beautiful collages sold in galleries and I even saw some on One Kings Lane. I am super inspired by her and what she does. It's hard to stop painting sometimes, but then I start designing a pattern and I can't stop that to get back to finishing my painting! Vicious cycle, but someone has to do it. Below are some artwork of Lulu and also products. I can't stop staring at the dinnerware. Check out her blog and
website and you'll see what I mean! What do you think of Lulu?
